Here in Tipp City, Ohio, you get a gourmet experience whether you’re looking for the perfect meal or
just the right shoes to match that perfect outfit. Downtown Tipp City makes for a wonderful outing as
you stroll along the street filled with some of the area’s best and most unique shops and restaurants.
Tipp City has a variety of locations on the Miami County Boutique Trail and the Miami County Sweets &
Spirits Trail. Check them out and join in on the fun!
Situated right on the Great Miami Riverway and the Great Miami Recreational Trail, Tipp City is a hub of
outdoor recreation. Cyclists and runners enjoy the miles of paved trail connecting our area with other
trails statewide. River lovers will find smooth waters perfect for a casual canoe trip or a day out fishing
with family. A short hike at Charleston Falls Nature Preserve brings you to the uppermost point of a
magnificent 37’ waterfall. Rent a canoe, kayak, or raft (or bring your own) to get up close and personal
with the natural beauty of the area.
Historically speaking, Tipp City was originally named Tippecanoe in honor of William Henry Harrison
whose campaign slogan was “Tippecanoe & Tyler Too”. Developed in 1840, the town was purposely
situated to take advantage of the traffic on the Miami-Erie Canal. You can find early evidence of this
canal history along the recreational trail and in downtown Tipp City at Lock #15.
All of this and more make it easy to see why Tipp City was picked as one of Ohio’s Best Hometowns by
Ohio Magazine.
